Some of us women used one of the historic outhouses. The one we used was named "Diamond Head". Somebody waiting in line wondered if it was named for rattlesnakes. I, for one, looked carefully around the interior for snakes before getting myself into a vulnerable position. We also saw several orange salamanders. It turned out to be a beautiful hike and I was sorry that you couldn't make it.
