Poor Knight's island

Beautiful view from lovely motel on cliffs of Tutukaka. Hike to lighthouse aborted as tide water swirled into our boots at necessary crossing. Tide was incoming. Well that may be okay for mr. Adonis.  Hell, he could have swum or surfed across. We opted for a quick return, thereby filling our boots briney oceans, thereby launching a boot scenario that included permanently clammy feet for him and the temporary loss of boots for John as he left them on our back deck.   This location came with another  boat ride. The sick member of our group stayed on the land as John decided to go. Just an island in the harbor. How bad could it be?  Snorkeling. No warnings this time as w e left the dock to even more swells than the day before.  All nauseous passengers went down to rear deck outside to puke in bags. We went. With help. My job was to hand out puke bags. One after the other. We arrived to Snorkeling and kayaking which, once John felt better was enjoyable. Fish quite not as good as HI. Not semi-tropical. Back on deck with good lunch we relaxed and enjoyed the island sanctuary that we were not allowed to set foot on. High cliffs. Colorful caves.Easy return ride with captain looking out open windows. Lots of Shearwaters (birds)cavorting around in ocean
